About Me
Well well well… Welcome to my little world!
I am Ananya Singh, currently pursuing Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Maryland, College Park in US (Class of 2027). Previously, I worked as a UX Designer at a leading FinTech company, where I focused on solving complex problems for enterprise clients.
My work blends service design with design thinking to craft solutions that are not only user-centered but also aligned with business strategy. I care deeply about creating meaningful digital experiences that genuinely help people and scale with purpose.
I hold a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (Class of 2022), which gave me the technical backbone to bridge the gap between design and technology. Now, I'm passionate about using that foundation to design intuitive, thoughtful products that make a real impact.
The Beginning - Volunteering Experience
Ever since childhood, I was always into art, and I loved sketching. I used to take random pictures from books and used to draw them. Slowly and steadily, I learnt the balance of strokes and color combinations through drawings. When I started my undergraduation, I volunteered to join a student-based NGO to help the children and their families in the underrepresented areas of the city.

Every month we would visit and teach the families about a few common issues present in their locality. Since they spoke a different language, we always had to come up with posters and pictorial representations to make them understand the value of hygiene and education in their lives. Art does not need a language to communicate. This fostered a growing interest in how a design could be helpful to people around the world. I came to know about how design seems invisible but is present everywhere in our everyday lives. From door handles to the click of a button, design is omnipresent. It is so delicate and efficient that we never notice the details in small things.

None of this work would have been possible without the incredible collaboration of our team. Together, we brainstormed and generated innovative ideas for each monthly visit, ensuring every aspect was carefully considered. From planning and photography to content writing and graphic design, each team member contributed their expertise to deliver user-friendly solutions that met our goals.
From ‘Passion’ to ‘Purpose’ to ‘Profession’ - The transition to practical experience
During my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong curiosity for User Experience Design. With a background in building UI interfaces using basic web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I wanted to deepen my understanding of UX. I completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate, which equipped me with a solid foundation in UX principles and design strategies. After finishing the course, I landed an internship, which eventually led to a full-time role at the same company. My primary focus had been on creating enterprise-level solutions within the B2B (Business-to-Business) space, where I gained invaluable experience in addressing the unique needs and complexities of this sector.
Through my job experience, I have realized that the ‘correctness’ of a design decision is never absolute. It was a challenge to balance UX ideals with business needs, user expectations, and technical limitations. During my 3 years at the company, I’ve had the privilege of designing solely for over 10 products, leading the design efforts for 4 of them.
The idea that design seems invisible is both obvious and eye-opening. I have started seeing the world through the eyes of design and I feel that this is just the start of a journey. With each step, my knowledge in the field has grown, fueling an increasing curiosity about emerging technologies and the impactful ways in which design can shape and guide them.
I have a deep love for playing the piano and swimming, which I consider my ultimate stress relievers. Music also plays a significant role in helping me unwind and stay focused. In addition, I enjoy playing badminton and hold an Orange belt in Karate. I'm always eager to explore new things, both in my professional life and beyond, as I believe every opportunity is a chance to learn and grow.
